"Marcus could not have been more knowledgeable about fostering with Blue Sky. He gave us lots of information and answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable to discuss any concerns we had. The call lasted roughly 30 mins and there was no pressure to make any commitment."
Select a date and time using the calendar below and our fostering advisor will call you back for an initial chat about fostering and answer any questions you may have.
Generally, the process takes between 4 to 5 months, but this can sometimes take longer depending on individual circumstances. As the process starts, you will be allocated your own social worker who will talk you through each step and help you complete any paperwork as part of the fostering assessment process with Blue Sky Fostering.
How much does fostering pay is one of our most frequently asked questions! Once you are approved as a foster carer and allocated your first placement, an allowance will be calculated based on your experience and the circumstances of the child/children placed with you.
Fostering a child or young person is unique each time – allowances also differ to reflect this. Our knowledgeable team will be happy to run through this with you. If you would like to book a call back click here.
During the assessment process numerous checks will be undertaken to evaluate your suitability as a potential foster carer. These will include a medical check, personal and professional references, and a DBS check. This may seem daunting, but they are in place to safeguard and protect our children and young people.
As part of the foster carer assessment, you will be allocated a dedicated assessor who will visit and work with you to produce a fostering assessment document (Form F) which will contain details about you, your skills, and relevant life experiences to demonstrate your suitability as a foster carer.
Your dedicated assessor and the team at Blue Sky Fostering will be available to provide advice and support throughout the carer assessment process and beyond.
"Children are looked after by foster carers who are caring, encouraging and compassionate. Children are treated as part of the family and made to feel included. The excellent relationship between all caring for the children means they make good progress. Professionals are consistent in their views of carers, and words such as 'nurturing', 'aspirational' and 'excellent advocates' were used to describe the care they provide to children."
