Become a Foster Carer

Georgina Arnold

Deputy Area Manager

I joined Blue Sky in December 2014. I work closely with Foster Carers, offering advice and guidance to ensure that they are able to give the highest level of care and support to the child or young person placed with them. I ensure that Foster Carers have all the skills and resources to ensure positive outcomes for our looked after children. I also work closely with a wide range of professionals as to ensure that the needs of children are identified and met.

I most enjoy interacting with the foster carers, their families and the young people on a daily basis. My role is really hands-on, which I love. To me the best thing about working for Blue Sky is how supportive everyone is; it’s like one big family.

My parents have fostered for many years and so I have grown up in a fostering household. This has given me a great insight into how fostering can impact upon a family and positively influence birth children. I previously worked for many years as a support worker for a charity, which I found very interesting and rewarding. I worked as a teaching assistant in a BESD (behavioral, emotional and social difficulties) school for young boys, and then volunteered in a secure unit.
