Become a Foster Carer

Ed Hill-Thompson

Training & Participation Manager

My role is to engage all of the young people placed with us, by doing as many positive activities as possible, giving them a voice and showing them that their opinion and values can and will make a difference, not only on those caring for them but for other young people placed with Blue Sky. I work with the young people to create a participation strategy that will appeal to all of them, and ensure that all of the work we do is meaningful.

I really enjoy getting to work across the entire Blue Sky region, meeting and working with almost every young person. Seeing them succeed at the things that are important to them is the most satisfying part of my role. Here at Blue Sky, every day is different and it’s a fantastic opportunity to work with a vast range of young people, staff and carers who all have the same goal. I enjoy empowering young people and making them realise what they are capable of.

Previously, I worked for David Lloyd Leisure for 7 Years as a Family Activities Manager. In my previous role, I managed after-school sessions, a crèche, parties and half term camps as well as a social events calendar for children and their families. My other role was in product development and training, where I developed fitness, arts and crafts, dance and sports sessions for children aged 0 – 11. I have also previously worked in Youth Clubs in the south and as a Football Coach for AFC Bournemouth and the Hampshire FA.
