Well, what a wonderful way to end 2017 – with our fourth consecutive ‘Outstanding’ from Ofsted!
The inspection, which took place during the autumn half-term break, focused on the overall experiences and progress of children and young people, taking in to account how well they are helped and protected and the effectiveness of leaders and managers.
We were delighted to see the Inspectors highlighted the foster children’s “strong bonds with their carers, often referring to them as ‘mum’ and ‘dad’” and “the welcoming atmosphere in which children and young people feel as though they are part of a traditional family. Carers feel appreciated and valued.”
The report concluded that we offer highly effective services that consistently exceed the standards of good and our actions contribute to significantly improved outcomes and positive experiences for children and young people. Mission accomplished…..but we won’t be resting on our laurels!
Our CEO, Simon, said “It’s all down to the dedication of everyone in Blue Sky. Our fostering families, and all my colleagues, have an incredible commitment to those in our care. Everyone’s loyalty and enthusiasm is key to helping vulnerable children and young people achieve their goals and realise their ambitions and I’m beyond ‘proud’!”
The published report is available to read here.
Our grateful thanks to everyone involved with Blue Sky, everyone who took part in the inspection and to the inspectors themselves. We’re chuffed to bits!
Fancy joining us?
