The county-wide event, which takes place at the military facilities in Aldershot, allows young people to showcase their talent through sports competition. Hampshire School Games is an exciting and fully inclusive competition for Years 3 to 10, meaning there is a sport for everyone, whatever their ability. It offers a unique opportunity for young people to take part in a large-scale sports competition. For many young people, this will be their first experience of playing at a county level.
The Games is backed by National Lottery funding through Sport England and this year, Blue Sky is sponsoring the Archery and an Assault Course in the Challenge Zone. The Challenge Zone gives young people the chance to try a
broad range of physical activities in between competitive events.
Swanwick & Basingstoke office Area Manager Katie, explains why Blue Sky Fostering has sponsored this year’s course:
“Blue Sky Fostering established in 2005, and the vision remains “to make a real and measurable difference to the lives of looked after children and young people.” We believe that all young people should have the opportunity to engage in sport and physical activity and we regularly measure how much physical activities or hobbies our young people are engaging in.”
“We strive to ensure that all young people take part in 2 physical activities per week and one hobby. It is especially important to us to sponsor events such as the Hampshire School Games so events like this can run, ensuring every child has the chance to be involved.”
