Ranging from one year to fifteen years and over, we believe that every child deserves an opportunity and a chance at a better life. And where better to give them that chance than on the sunny south coast?
This is Dave and Linda’s Story
Dave and Linda have been with Blue Sky Fostering for over five years now, bringing with them personal experience from time spent with nieces, nephews, and other family members. Despite having no children of their own, Dave and Linda knew they had the space and the patience to help young people to thrive, with Dave becoming the main carer in their three bedroom home in the South of England.
With Dave formerly an emergency services control room operator, his ability to work under pressure came together well with the training offered by Blue Sky Fostering – which covers a wealth of resources and tools that foster carers can and will need during each stay.
Now, Dave and Linda have taken in two unaccompanied asylum seekers and are navigating the complex journey of life with two teenagers who don’t speak English. Six months in and the couple are moving mountains, uncovering the teenagers’ dreams, goals, and personality traits.
