What happens at Blue Sky Fest?

First time attending? Watch our handy video so you can see what to expect by clicking here

Key Information

Children: Carers are reminded that they are responsible for their young people and responsible for supervising the behaviours of their young people at all times whilst on site. Individual risk assessments and safe care plans for your young people should be observed during this event. Please also always accompany your young people when they collect food and drink and whilst going to the toilet. Blue Sky staff will be around the venue if you need any advice.

Arrival and Signing in: On arrival, attendees will be checked off the master list of attendees by the greeting team. You will be given a blue festival band for each attendee and must wear this all day. During the event, any person without a blue band will be asked to identify themselves and may be asked to leave to ensure no members of the public come in to the event

Queue Assist: We understand that for various reasons, people at the event may find queuing for rides and food a challenge for a range of reasons. As such, we have a selection of queue assist bands available. If you feel that you or someone in your party requires one of these, please feel free to take one from the box at the entrances.

Please be respectful of this system and those making use of it

If you have one of these bands, please make your way to the side of the vendor/ride and make them aware of your presence, where they will make every effort to get you on the ride and serve your food as soon as possible.

Dogs: We are not discouraging you from bringing your beautiful companions to the festival; however, any dogs in attendance must be kept on a lead at all times, and carers are responsible for their continual supervision.

Dogs with an unknown temperament that have not had a dog questionnaire completed should not be present. Dogs are not permitted close to animals’ area and are only to attend if carers have no other option for day care for them.

Drinks Containers: There will be a small number of compostable cups available on the day for teas, coffee and squash; however, we would please ask you, where possible, to bring a refillable drinks container for your use

Food tokens: When you arrive at the festival, you will be asked to take three wooden tokens per person. This entitles you to any three meal/food items throughout the day, including ice creams. Drinks are unlimited, and there will be various squash/water stations and a tea/coffee area throughout the venue. This is to ensure everyone gets a chance to eat in as fairway as possible, and we ask that those in attendance respect the system.

These tokens will be given to you as Foster Carers, and it is your responsibility to judge whether to give the tokens to your young people or accompany them to the food vendors. They are around 50p in size, and their suitability in terms of a choking hazard should be judged accordingly.

Allergies: Each food vendor will be able to provide you with information on this. We will also have a list near the stage as an overview of allergens.

Map: Please click here to view a map of the day for critical points of information, all of which will be signposted on the day

Stage times and Performances: To allow for flexibility, there will be a whiteboard at the event with the times of some of the performers. This will be subject to change on the day based on the needs of those performing. If you are performing, please ensure to find Ed when you arrive at the venue to confirm your stage time. This also allows us to add more people to the stage on the day, should you or a Young Person wish to participate.

Young Peoples Awards

At Blue Sky we have created a pair of awards in memory of two people who have passed away from our family. These awards reflect the passions and life of both Alex & Rhianna respectively.  You can find out more about the awards, and nominate a Young Person, by clicking below:
